Rangoli for festivals

Rangoli is the decorative folkart of india.  Creativity of rangoli has taken its own leap and has taken a whole new dimension.  Traditional rangolis were decored on floors with dry rice powder or wet rice paste, different coloured rangoli powders, kumkum or haldi or with flowers.

Mom always has creative ways to decorate the floors.  This festival she had decorated the floors with rangolis in an amazingly attractive way.  It was spell boundedly beautiful.  So I thought why don't I extend the appreciation by blogging it

'Varamahalakshmi Pooja', is a pooja performed to seek the blessings of goddess Lakshmi. My mom had prepared floating rangolis. Here are some pictures of it.

Next comes the 'Ganesha Chathurthi'.  Ganapthi pappa, one of our favourite gods, came with all his brightness and calmness.  Mom decorated him with rice and shining stones.  Look how attractive he looks...

Happy festival!!! Bye until the next blog
